At the CHINA-ASEAN LEGAL COOPERATION CENTER, MALAYSIA  (CALCC) are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy outlines our commitment by detailing our practice in respect of the collection and processing of such information by CALCC as the data controller of such information. This policy also indicates your rights pertaining to such information.

Personal information that we collect and process may include (whether this information was provided to the CALCC by you, or by third parties on your behalf):

• • basic information such as your name, organisation, position, gender, date of birth and contract information such as your mailing address(es), e-mail address(es) and contact number(s);
  • financial information provided to the CALCC with in the course of making payment(s);

  • other information provided to the CALCC in the course of attending our events and business processes and membership-based services;

• • Your information may be retained only so far as it is reasonably necessary for the business purposes of the CALCC and the provision of services, the period of which may vary according to the class of information, taking into account the legal and regulatory stipulations, statutory limitation periods and good practice.

• • Unless disclosure is made to trusted third parties in conformity with contractual arrangements with them, or is required by law, your information will not be disclosed to third parties outside the CALCC.
  • These third parties may include: our professional advisors and auditors; suppliers who may carry out support services for us; IT service providers; recipients of CALCC’s services; and those involved in the hosting or organization of events.

The CALCC will take all reasonable steps necessary in order to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in compliance with this Privacy Policy.
  • Payments made to the CALCC online will be processed via a third-party payment service provider. Please refer to the separate terms and conditions of the said provider for further terms, including that of your personal data provided to them, that may also apply to you for use of that payment service.
  • Once the CALCC is in receipt of your personal information, the CALCC uses strict procedures and security features to try preventing unauthorized access. However, despite the CALCC’s best efforts to protect your personal information, the transmission of information via the internet may not always be completely secure.
  • Therefore, although we endeavor to protect your data, the CALCC cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our website, and any transmission is at your own risk.
